APTA President Supports Thailand CCTV Security Guidelines (TCSG) Initiative with NCSA and iCA to Strengthen Trust in Thailand’s Digital Infrastructure

29 September 2026 — Srangrath Hatthawong, President of the Asia-Pacific Trade Association (APTA) and Vice President of the Thai Intelligent CCTV Association (iCA), participated in the official launch of the Thailand CCTV Security Guidelines (TCSG) under the theme “Together We Build Trust — From Guidelines to Implementation.”

The initiative, jointly organized by Thailand’s National Cyber Security Agency (NCSA) and iCA, aims to strengthen cybersecurity and trust in CCTV systems as part of Thailand’s digital infrastructure.

The launch marked another important milestone in the TCSG initiative, following a series of activities throughout August and September 2026. As a member of the TCSG Working Group, Srangrath contributed to several key activities during the development process.

Knowledge Sharing on CCTV and Cybersecurity — Presented insights on “CCTV, Smart City, Critical Information Infrastructure (CII), and Security,” highlighting the evolving role of CCTV from traditional surveillance systems to an integral part of digital infrastructure, including its connection to critical information infrastructure.

Executive Roundtable and Focus Group Discussions — Contributed perspectives on “Trusted CCTV Ecosystem & Contextual Application,” emphasizing the importance of developing guidelines that reflect different operational contexts, risk levels, and the needs of government agencies, private organizations, and critical infrastructure operators.

Webinar #2 — 10 September 2026 — Served as moderator for the discussion “Trusted CCTV in the AI & Cloud Era,” bringing together technology and cybersecurity experts to explore the transition from Smart CCTV to Trusted CCTV. Key topics included Cybersecurity, Privacy, Cloud Security, AI Governance, and Supply Chain Security.

Public Hearing and Stakeholder Consultation — Supported the exchange of perspectives among industry stakeholders to help ensure that the TCSG can be applied appropriately within Thailand’s operational context, covering technology, cybersecurity, data protection, and system lifecycle management.

At the official launch on 29 September 2026, Srangrath also served as moderator of the special panel discussion titled “From Guideline to Implementation — Building Thailand’s Trusted CCTV Ecosystem.” The discussion focused on translating the guidelines into practical implementation, addressing policy, supply chain, industry operators, and the integration of Cloud and AI technologies.

A key focus was End-to-End Ecosystem Security, recognizing that CCTV cybersecurity extends beyond individual cameras to include network infrastructure, data management, access control, procurement, installation, maintenance, and stakeholders throughout the supply chain. This approach emphasizes risk management across the entire system lifecycle.

For APTA, supporting cybersecurity initiatives reflects the importance of strengthening collaboration among government agencies, businesses, and industry stakeholders. Digital technologies and cybersecurity standards are increasingly essential to trade and investment in today’s digital economy.

Looking ahead, APTA is working toward expanding its cooperation networks across the Asia-Pacific region, promoting the exchange of knowledge, technology, and business opportunities. This direction aims to strengthen the competitiveness of Thai businesses while developing practical international partnerships that can be further expanded in the future.
